Conservation and Sustainability

Cayo Largo is part of the Blue Sanctuary marine preservation project, one of the Caribbean’s most ambitious conservation efforts. In partnership with Cuban scientific centers, this no-take zone protects some of the healthiest coral reefs and flats in the region. Avalon’s fishing operations are entirely catch-and-release and foster sustainable tourism practices that support local Cuban communities and promote long-term marine stewardship.
