FUTA LODGE FUTALEUFÚ
The Magic Valley – A Remote and Wild Fly Fishing Escape in Chilean Patagonia
The Big River of Patagonia
Deep in the Coihue Forest of Chile’s Tenth Region, the Futaleufú River rolls through some of the most unspoiled mountain scenery on Earth. South of the Chilean Lake District, this standalone fishery is a hidden gem for anglers chasing wild Rainbow and Brown Trout in crystal-clear waters. Futa Lodge offers anglers access to an exclusive and untouched section of the Futaleufú. The diverse fishery provides an exciting mix of float trips, wading, and tributary exploration, making it one of Patagonia’s best-kept secrets. With healthy resident trout populations, abundant hatches, and stunning surroundings, this is a true fly-fishing paradise. Beyond the world-class fishing, Futa Lodge is a rustic, yet luxurious retreat, offering secluded accommodations, gourmet dining, and a relaxing wooden hot tub overlooking the river.

Conservation and Sustainability

Futa Lodge operates under a strict catch-and-release policy to ensure the Futaleufú River remains one of Patagonia’s premier trout fisheries. Fly-fishing is the only method permitted, with barbless hooks required to reduce fish injury. Guides are trained in best practices for careful fish handling, and the eco-friendly lodge is designed to have minimal environmental impact. Futa Lodge also supports local conservation efforts aimed at protecting the natural beauty and biodiversity of Chilean Patagonia.
